Flytying pattern #1 - Crucifix (Spent Spinner)

Crusifix

One of the better spent spinner imitations I know of. It might not be the simplest one to tie, but you get a great looking fly that floats very well and fishes very well. I found this fly to work for both large and small mayflies. Most mayfly species become brownish after evolving to adult/spinner. If I only could have one type of spent spinner imitation i my flybox, it would have to be this.

Note: Try to use good quality CdC feathers, the cheaper ones seem to tear up more easily.
